The side stones are a deliberate mix of round and marquise cuts, which lets them sit inside the leaf shapes as though the leaves were the setting all along. In daylight the alexandrite centre is green, so the ring reads as a genuine botanical piece; under warm evening light it goes red and the whole thing turns gothic.
